Interestingly, Merton made one of the lists! From his pre-political period, thank heaven.

Also, Jeremy Driscoll's A Monk's Alphabet! Not a bad read, and I may have to re-read.

Intrigued by Joseph Pearce's list, including a book about the now-unjustly-forgotten 20th-century poet Roy Campbell. Campbell did some wonderful translations of St John of the Cross.
