St. Anthony Map

Ever seen those maps of the U.S. that show where "pop", "coke" and "soda" predominate? We need one of those for the prayers of St. Anthony. Where do we say, "Dear St. Anthony I pray / help me find x today!" (where x = what we've lost, often our sanity), and where do we say, "Tony, Tony, look around. Something's lost and must be found!"

I never have got the whole "tony tony" thing. If I talked this way to my wife, she would refer me to counseling.

Ha! Me too. I'd never even heard of the "tony tony" prayer until finding it in the Catholic blogosphere.

All my friends say, "Tony, Tony," which does strike me as rather disrespectful. And since I'm already asking way too many favors, I prefer to be as courteous as possible. (I fear that some day St. Anthony may appear to me and ask if it had ever occurred to me to make note of where I put things...)

I just found out that Saint "Tony's" baptismal name is Fernando!

Hmm...Ellyn, I thought the "Tony, Tony," was an east coast thing but I guess it's in the Midwest as well.

"Fernando, Fernando," sounds like an Abba song!
