OBAMA AS ICARUS
"Don't fly too close to the elites," they said,
as the media fashioned his wings,
"Don't fly too close to the hicks," they said,
"if you want to be one of the kings!"
But heady the elation
at a 'Frisco celebration,
when he said the hicks were bitter,
and: "they need a babysitter!"
Still his arms did flap
- aft' that fateful day,
but bit-by-bit his myth
began to melt away.
