Couple Thoughts

  • Archbishop Chaput’s exposition on St. Thomas More is inspiring and so well-written in “Render Under Caesar”. Chaput's is one of the best books with spiritual theme I’ve read in a while. He perfectly expresses why More is so revered in our age – it’s not because he was a martyr but because he was an unwilling one. We can relate, to the unwilling part I mean.

  • I love St. Paul’s writings and always have because he presumes upon his listeners, giving them (us) the benefit of the doubt and reminding us that we are capax Dei. St. Paul, in his generally optimistic and merciful tone, is a figure of the Church.
